A brother in prison wanted to know where are we at now, today in regards to the prophecies of the end given by Yahushua and also in Revelation… this was my response to him in a letter I wrote back to him.
As far as your question in Revelation, I can only guess I can’t say I know for certain. My guess is that we are awaiting the 6th seal earthquake in Revelation 6:12. If you read closely in Revelation 6 this appears to be a worldwide earthquake affecting everyone, even the rulers of the earth (Revelation 6:15). Notice in Revelation 6:16 and 6:17 everyone THOUGHT that it was the time Yahushua was going to return… but IT WASN’T TIME YET… because there is still the 7th seal and all the things written in revelation after this that still need to happen.
The reason I am guessing this 6th seal earthquake hasn’t happened is because as far as I know in history there hasn’t been a worldwide earthquake that occurred like this. Of course, I could be wrong because I’m no history expert, but based upon a quick search on the Internet I didn’t find anything that looked like a worldwide earthquake had happened like this before.
In Revelation 6:8 it mentions a fourth of the land killed with sword, hunger, and with death, etc.. I am guessing this was fulfilled during the time of the black plague from 1346-1353. The online Wikipedia article about the black plague says this:
The Black Death is thought to have originated in the arid plains of Central Asia, where it then travelled along the Silk Road, reaching Crimea by 1343.[6] From there, it was most likely carried by Oriental rat fleas living on the black rats that were regular passengers on merchant ships. Spreading throughout the Mediterranean and Europe, the Black Death is estimated to have killed 30–60% of Europe’s total population.[7] In total, the plague reduced the world population from an estimated 450 million down to 350–375 million in the 14th century. The world population as a whole did not recover to pre-plague levels until the 17th century.[8] The plague recurred occasionally in Europe until the 19th century.
I could be wrong but I’m guessing that this black plague was fulfillment of something in Revelation, maybe Revelation 6:8.
So if I had to guess, I’d guess a big worldwide earthquake where everyone thinks it’s the end is next. But what it looks like is the 6th seal earthquake isn’t the end, so my guess is if people THINK it’s the end but then it isn’t then maybe when they come out of it people are like “wow nothing happened” and then they go into even more sin maybe, maybe end up scoffing more at the idea of his return, I don’t know. But after that earthquake we can see there is still quite a lot left to happen before Yahushua’s return.
Again, not being a history expert and not knowing for certain what’s happened over the past 2,000 years, it’s hard to say what time we’re in for certain. But that’s my best guess at this time. We’re certainly close to the end but how close who knows. There appears to me that there is still a lot left to happen.
