Tithing FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 10% Tithe still binding?
The law of Yahweh doesn't "bind" you - it "frees you". We are "free" to love Yahweh and keeping His commands is loving Him. That's sad if you view it as "binding". It's all about love. But we can't fulfill all the commands fully until there is a Levitical Priesthood functioning again.
Did Abraham’s tithe in Genesis 14:20 create a forever law?
Matthew 5:17-19 shows us all laws are here while heaven (the sky) and earth (the land) are here, and nothing has been abolished; but the act of Avraham giving was not equivalent to some new law being enacted by Yahweh.
Am I in sin if I don't give 10% of my wages?
We are in sin if we violate any part of the Bible, but we cannot show any part of the Bible that says to give 10% of your monetary wages from a paid job. But if someone had high wages, and they could help others, but they wanted to be selfish and greedy and accumulate wealth for no reason and no plan to help others, would you consider that a sin? Is selfishness and greed a sin? Obviously.
