Answer From The Annual Reading Schedule - Week 46 Notes For Deuteronomy : Six. Although Deuteronomy 19:2 says three cities, we learn from Numbers 35:6-15 that there are actually six – three on one side of the Yarden (Jordan), and three on the other. Deuteronomy 19:2 and 19:7 are probably speaking of the three cities on the east side of the Yarden because in 19:8-9 it mentions adding three more cities after their borders are enlarged.
