Can we touch dead flies, cats, dogs, rabbits, catfish, or dead pigs?
Answer From The Annual Reading Schedule - Week 24 Notes For Leviticus: No (Leviticus 11:8, 11, 24, 26, 32, 43-44, 20:25). We are commanded to not touch any unclean animals when they have died and to not become unclean by them. Some teach it is only the pig's carcass you can't touch, but that's obviously a wrong interpretation when we read Leviticus 11:8, 11, 24, 26, 32, 43-44, and later on in 20:25 as well. Yahweh does not want us to become unclean by any unclean animal's dead carcass. I think that is made clear by these verses.
