Genesis 1:1-2:3
(1) In the beginning Elohiym created the skies and the land.
(2) And the land came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohiym was moving on the face of the waters.
(3) And Elohiym said, “Let light come to be,” and light came to be.
(4) And Elohiym saw the light, that it was good. And Elohiym separated the light from the darkness.
(5) And Elohiym called the light ‘day’ and the darkness He called ‘night.’ And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the first day.
(6) And Elohiym said, “Let an expanse come to be in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
(7) And Elohiym made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it came to be so.
(8) And Elohiym called the expanse ‘skies.’ And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the second day.
(9) And Elohiym said, “Let the waters under the skies be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it came to be so.
(10) And Elohiym called the dry land ‘land,’ and the collection of the waters He called ‘seas.’ And Elohiym saw that it was good.
(11) And Elohiym said, “Let the land bring forth grass, the plant that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the land.” And it came to be so.
(12) And the land brought forth grass, the plant that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And Elohiym saw that it was good.
(13) And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the third day.
(14) And Elohiym said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the skies to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years,
(15) and let them be for lights in the expanse of the skies to give light on the land.” And it came to be so.
(16) And Elohiym made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.
(17) And Elohiym set them in the expanse of the skies to give light on the land,
(18) and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Elohiym saw that it was good.
(19) And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the fourth day.
(20) And Elohiym said, “Let the waters teem with shoals of living creatures, and let birds fly above the land on the face of the expanse of the skies.”
(21) And Elohiym created great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters teemed, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And Elohiym saw that it was good.
(22) And Elohiym blessed them, saying, “Bear fruit and increase, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds increase on the land.”
(23) And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the fifth day.
(24) And Elohiym said, “Let the land bring forth the living creature according to its kind: livestock and creeping creatures and beasts of the land, according to its kind.” And it came to be so.
(25) And Elohiym made the beast of the land according to its kind, livestock according to its kind, and all that creep on the land according to its kind. And Elohiym saw that it was good.
(26) And Elohiym said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the skies, and over the livestock, and over all the land and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the land.”
(27) And Elohiym created the man in His image, in the image of Elohiym He created him – male and female He created them.
(28) And Elohiym blessed them, and Elohiym said to them, “Bear fruit and increase, and fill the land and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the skies, and over all creatures moving on the land.”
(29) And Elohiym said, “See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the land, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food.
(30) “And to every beast of the land, and to every bird of the skies, and to every creeping creature on the land, in which there is life, every green plant is for food.” And it came to be so.
(31) And Elohiym saw all that He had made, and see, it was very good. And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the sixth day.
Genesis 2:1-3
(1) Thus the skies and the land were completed, and all their array.
(2) And on the seventh day Elohiym completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
(3) And Elohiym blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which Elohiym in creating had made.
The weekly Sabbath is like a weekly wedding anniversary with Yahweh, remembering that He is our Creator and we didn’t come from some monkey – we were made in HIS image, the Image of Elohiym. The 7th Day was blessed, not the 1st day or 2nd day or 3rd day or 4th day or 5th day or 6th day, and it’s not a have-it-your-way day or a play-day, it’s Yahweh’s Shabbat day (Sabbath day) so do it with all of your heart. It’s not a day to dread or complain or simply entertain, it’s not a day to have a pic-nic just for fun. But it’s okay to walk on outside, praise Yah in the sunshine, and sing to Him and keep Shabbat with all of your heart.
Some of the previous paragraph was a quote from a song written by some young believers in the faith, a song about the Sabbath. When we keep the Sabbath day set-apart (Holy as it says in King James Version) we show Yahweh we appreciate Him, we love Him, we care about Him, and we are thankful to Him. The churches today teach that our Creator doesn’t care about the Sabbath, but that’s simply not true. The Sabbath has always been the 7th day, and always a special day in His sight. He wrote in stone, the 4th command of the 10, was to REMEMBER THE SABBATH.. but the churches – so many of them at least – want you to forget it…. Well that’s not what the Bible says. It says REMEMBER…
I hope you will choose to remember it, and keep it, and regard it as set-apart (holy) because it is!
YHWH bless you and keep you. YHWH make His face shine upon you and show favor unto you. YHWH lift up His face upon you and give you Shalom. In the love of our King Yahushua The Anointed,
